Substance Use & Recovery
Support for substance use, without judgment.
Whether you are questioning your relationship with alcohol or drugs, working toward sobriety, or supporting a recovery you have already begun, therapy offers a steady, practical place to do it — at the pace and with the goals that are yours.

What this can look like
Drinking or using more than you meant to, or more often. Promising yourself you will cut back and finding it harder than expected. Using to manage anxiety, sleep, trauma, or pain — and noticing it is starting to cost you. A period of sobriety you want to protect. Or a family member’s use that is affecting you. Substance use very often sits alongside anxiety, depression, or past trauma, and therapy here treats both together rather than one at a time.

How therapy helps
We start where you are, with the goals you have — abstinence, moderation, or simply understanding the role a substance has been playing. Our approach is harm-reduction informed: honest, practical, and free of shame. Sessions build motivation that is yours rather than imposed, concrete skills for cravings and difficult moments, and attention to the anxiety, trauma, or stress underneath the use. Aylin Sanjuampa Cerezo is a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC), and the work is coordinated with any medical, psychiatric, or program support you have.
Whether you are questioning your relationship with alcohol or drugs, working toward sobriety, or supporting a recovery you have already begun, therapy offers a steady, practical place to do it — at the pace and with the goals that are yours.

Frequently asked questions
Do I have to want to quit completely to come?
No. Many people begin by wanting to understand or reduce their use. Your goals are set with you, and they can change.
Is this a treatment program?
No. OnPoint offers outpatient therapy, not detox or an intensive program. If a higher level of care would serve you better, we will say so and help you find it.
Is therapy for substance use covered by insurance?
We work with most major plans, including Medicaid and TRICARE, and verify your coverage before your first session.
